3 hrs agoArtificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the cybersecurity landscape, turning traditional assumptions upside down. In the interview with Werner Lindemann, the key message is clear: AI is no longer just a defensive enhancement—it is now an offensive multiplier that changes the entire “infosec rulebook.”
One of the biggest shifts is the rise of AI-powered phishing. These attacks are no longer clumsy or easily detectable; they are highly personalized, context-aware, and capable of achieving far higher success rates than traditional scams. Attackers can now generate convincing emails, clone writing styles, and even simulate trusted voices or identities, making social engineering more dangerous than ever.
At the same time, organizations face the growing problem of “shadow AI,” where employees unknowingly expose sensitive data by using unapproved AI tools. This creates blind spots in corporate security systems, often bypassing established governance entirely.
Lindemann also highlights synthetic identity attacks and automated threat generation as emerging risks. These technologies allow adversaries to scale deception in ways humans simply cannot match manually.
The takeaway is not that AI is purely destructive, but that it is asymmetric. The same technology that empowers defenders to detect threats faster also empowers attackers to evolve faster. In this new era, cybersecurity is no longer about building stronger walls—it is about adapting at machine speed.
