1 hr agoJohannesburg’s culinary scene is entering a refined new chapter where food is no longer just served—it is narrated. At the Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff, a seasonal dinner series in collaboration with Babylonstoren is transforming the idea of dining into a story of place, harvest, and craft.
The experience brings together two worlds: the elevated cityscape of Johannesburg and the farm-rooted philosophy of Babylonstoren, one of South Africa’s most celebrated working wine estates. Each event in the series is designed as a one-night-only encounter where chefs, winemakers, and guests meet at a shared table built around seasonal ingredients and storytelling.
At the heart of it is Executive Chef Rudi Liebenberg, whose menus are guided by what is fresh, local, and expressive of the moment. Dishes are paired with Babylonstoren wines, known for their purity and deep connection to Cape terroir, creating a dialogue between plate and vineyard rather than a simple pairing.
What makes the series stand out is its intimacy. These are not large banquets but curated gatherings where conversation, wine, and food flow naturally. Guests are encouraged to engage with the makers, turning dinner into an immersive cultural exchange.
It is a reminder that luxury dining is evolving—less about excess, more about meaning. In this meeting of city elegance and farm authenticity, every course becomes a seasonal snapshot worth remembering.
