1 day ago🔥 I Tried Saving R100 a Day in South Africa… Here’s What Happened
I decided to challenge myself: save just R100 every day for one month. At first, it sounded easy… but reality hit fast.
The first few days were okay. I avoided buying snacks, cut down on takeaways, and even skipped unnecessary taxi trips. But by day 5, I realized how quickly small expenses add up. Airtime, data, and random cravings were my biggest enemies.
By the second week, I had to get serious. I started planning my spending, cooking at home, and saying “no” to things I didn’t really need. It wasn’t easy, especially when friends were going out and I had to stay back just to stick to my goal.
But here’s the crazy part… by the end of the month, I had saved R3,000.
Seeing that amount in my account changed my mindset completely. It made me realize that it’s not always about earning more money, but about controlling what you already have.
Now I’m thinking… what if I keep going for 3 months? That’s R9,000. For some people, that could be rent, school fees, or even starting a small business.
Saving money in South Africa is not easy, especially with how expensive things are getting. But this challenge showed me that small discipline can lead to big results.
