You’re Not Healing — You’re Just Distracting Yourself From the Problem

Let’s talk about something people don’t like to admit.

    You say you’re healing.

You say you’re working on yourself.

    You say you’re moving forward.

    But if we’re being honest…

    Are you really healing?

Or are you just distracting yourself?

    Because there’s a difference.

    Healing requires reflection.

    Understanding.

    Sitting with uncomfortable emotions.

    But distraction?

    Looks like this:

    Constant scrolling.

Jumping into new situations too quickly.

Keeping yourself busy so you don’t have to think.

    And on the surface?

    It feels like progress.

Because you’re not thinking about the problem as much.

But that doesn’t mean it’s gone.

    It just means it’s postponed.

    And postponed emotions?

    Always come back.

    Stronger.

    Unexpected.

    Unresolved.

That’s why certain things still trigger you.

That’s why certain thoughts still linger.

    Because you didn’t process them.

    You avoided them.

    And avoidance is not healing.

    It’s delay.

So if you really want to move forward…

    You have to face it.

    Not run from it.

    Ask yourself the uncomfortable questions.

    Acknowledge what actually hurt you.

    Understand your patterns.

Because that’s where real healing happens.

    Not in distraction.

    Not in avoidance.

    But in awareness.

    And yes—it’s uncomfortable.

    But it’s also necessary.
