Tunde was known in his neighborhood as a smart and hardworking young man. He recently got a job at a small electronics shop, and everyone believed this was his big break. At first, he worked honestly, arriving early and serving customers with a smile. His boss trusted him so much that he even allowed Tunde to handle sales alone.

One day, a customer mistakenly paid extra money for a phone. Tunde noticed it immediately. His heart raced. ā€œIt’s just a little,ā€ he thought. ā€œNo one will know.ā€ Instead of returning the change, he quietly slipped the extra cash into his pocket.

That ā€œsmall lieā€ didn’t stop there. Each day, he began taking tiny amounts—convincing himself it wasn’t a big deal. Soon, dishonesty became his habit.

Weeks later, the shop owner noticed that the daily sales no longer matched the stock. Suspicious, he installed a hidden camera. It didn’t take long before Tunde was caught.

The disappointment in his boss’s eyes hurt more than anything else. Tunde lost his job instantly. Worse still, word spread around the area, and no one wanted to hire someone they couldn’t trust.

Tunde sat alone one evening, replaying everything in his mind. All for what? A few extra notes that brought him shame instead of comfort.

He realized too late that dishonesty doesn’t just take what isn’t yours—it also steals your reputation, your peace, and your future.

From that day on, Tunde promised himself: no gain is worth the cost of losing your integrity.
