The warning follows a wave of violent protests in the Eastern Cape Province, where properties linked to Nigerians and other foreign nationals were reportedly att-acked and destroyed.
The tension is believed to have been triggered by controversy surrounding the reported installation of an Igbo traditional leader in the region—an event that sparked anger among some local groups and escalated into street protests.
