The Madlanga Commission resumes this morning with a new witness expected to testify in Pretoria as South Africa’s high‑profile judicial inquiry pushes deeper into allegations of criminality and corruption within law enforcement institutions. The identity of the witness remains undisclosed, but they are likely to provide further evidence connected to the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) — one of three traffic law enforcement agencies already under intense scrutiny.

So far, testimony has spotlighted how the security firm Gubis85 Solutions reportedly received R59 million from a massive R2.9 billion tender process that has been flagged as irregular, according to prior evidence presented before the Commission.

Investigators have also heard from Sergeant Fannie Nkosi and Commissioner Revo Spies, whose accounts helped lay bare how procurement and policing functions may have been entwined with questionable dealings.

Beyond contract disputes, the Commission continues to probe allegations of broader criminal infiltration and political interference in policing — matters that have fueled national debate and disciplinary action within the SAPS. Proceedings are slated to start at 9:30 am, as South Africans await what the next witness might reveal.
