Hosted at Cape Town’s historic City Hall, the event celebrated businesses whose ideas are not only creative but also impactful in solving real-world challenges.
Zerocrete emerged as a game-changer with its groundbreaking low-carbon concrete, made by combining non-recyclable plastic and fabric waste. This smart solution reduces landfill waste while addressing the country’s housing needs, all with an impressive reduction in carbon emissions. By turning waste into valuable construction material, Zerocrete is redefining sustainability and opening doors for job creation.
Polyoak Packaging also impressed judges with a world-first multilayer polypropylene bucket. By integrating recycled plastic into its design without sacrificing durability or performance, the company demonstrated that sustainability and quality can coexist.
Beyond product innovation, Polyoak is investing in people through its accredited training centre, helping to close the skills gap in plastic manufacturing. This initiative highlights the importance of education in strengthening industry growth.
