From Running Away To Stepping Into Purpose.

In Exodus 2:16–20, Moses is no longer in the palace he’s in a strange land, starting over.

    Ā

Ā He arrives in Midian and sits by a well, probably tired, uncertain, and carrying the weight of everything that just happened.

    Ā

Ā Then a new moment unfolds. Seven daughters of a priest come to draw water for their father’s flock, but some shepherds show up and try to chase them away.

    Ā

Moses could have stayed quiet but he doesn’t.

Something in him rises again this time, not in anger, but in courage. He steps in, defends the women, and helps water their flock.Ā

    Ā

It’s a different kind of strength now more controlled, more purposeful.

    Ā

When the women return home earlier than expected, their father, Reuel, is surprised.

    Ā

Ā They explain how an Egyptian helped them and stood up for them. Immediately, their father asks, ā€œWhere is he?ā€ He invites Moses to come and eat.

    Ā

From running for his life… to being welcomed at a table.

    Ā

This moment matters. Even in exile, purpose doesn’t disappear. Sometimes, the place you run to in fear becomes the place where your next chapter quietly begins.
