The Electoral Commission of South Africa has officially revealed a striking new logo and tagline for the upcoming 2026/27 Local Government Elections, marking a major milestone in its election preparations and public engagement strategy.

Branded with a bold call to action — “Get Up. Show Up. Vote” — the visual identity is designed to resonate emotionally with citizens and reflect a forward‑looking, voter‑centric democracy. The tagline aims to inspire South Africans to actively take part in shaping the future of their families, communities and the nation at large.

IEC Chairperson Mosotho Moepya says the logo encapsulates inclusive civic activism, shared patriotism and national pride, without lecturing or demanding — instead inviting participation as something bigger than individual interests. As an emblem of optimism, it is intended to become a shared national asset during the elections.

In addition to the visual rollout, the Commission is launching a podcast channel to boost transparency and civic education from 8 April 2026 and a youth‑focused reality series, Beats for My Peeps, blending culture and democracy to motivate young voters.

The next key phase includes a national campaign launch on 27 May and a voter registration weekend on 20–21 June, with strong encouragement for voters to check and update their registration details to ensure a smooth polling experience.
