It vacuums, mops, and maps rooms reliably, using an HD camera and onboard AI to detect trouble spots and scrub them—yet during testing it failed to eliminate all purposely placed stains, leaving some sticky messes behind even after multiple runs.
A standout feature is the unique base station, which holds separate reservoirs for clean water, dirty water, and dry debris, letting the robot autonomously empty, wash and dry itself after a job. That self‑sufficiency is undeniably convenient. But the unit’s relatively tall 4.25‑inch height means it frequently bumps into low furniture and struggles to reach tight edges — a major drawback for deep, edge‑to‑edge cleaning.
The Spot+Scrub maps multiple floors well, but app editing is clunky and lacks precision with certain obstacles, forcing users to guess zones. The AI‑assisted stain scrubbing is intriguing in concept, but in practice it’s harder to observe and less effective than advertised. For households with mostly open spaces and fewer low‑clearance obstacles, this Dyson robot is a capable partner — just not a revolutionary one.
