2 hrs agoIn a move aimed at reinforcing unity and inclusivity, the African National Congress (ANC) in Limpopo has expanded its Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) by appointing three additional members. This decision reflects the party’s commitment to ensuring that its leadership structure mirrors the diversity and character of the province.
The newly co-opted members—Orginia Mafefe, Delly Matjomane, and Bongani Nkonyana—were brought into the PEC during its first meeting following the recent provincial leadership elections. Their inclusion was not random but a constitutional provision exercised by the party to strengthen representation and broaden perspectives within its leadership ranks.
Beyond these appointments, the PEC also took steps to reinforce its operational efficiency. Tonny Rachoene was elected as Head of Communications, while Goodman Mtileni now leads Organising. Both will serve on the influential Provincial Working Committee (PWC), which plays a critical role in implementing decisions and guiding day-to-day political activities.
Additionally, several experienced members were elected into the PWC, highlighting a blend of continuity and renewal within the ANC’s provincial leadership. This combination of seasoned figures and newly co-opted members signals a strategic effort to stabilise and energise the party ahead of future political challenges.
Overall, the changes underscore the ANC’s intention to build a more representative, dynamic, and responsive leadership structure in Limpopo.
